Jet-setters that we are (in spirit!), it seems fitting that it’s been a week for international compilation news. This one hails from Japan (via our label there, Rambling Records), and they have included our electro-swing tune ‘Venus in Hollywood’ on a new release titled ‘Swingin’ Gold – Tribute To The Great Gatsby.’
It’s just been made available on iTunes Japan (for those of you with access to that – if you want our track alone it’s internationally on iTunes here). For old-school CD lovers we’ve been informed that there will be a full CD release coming in the Autumn.
Regardless of what you thought of Baz Luhrmann‘s film (looked amazing – waaaaay too long?), there’s no doubt that the 1920′s style it depicted still packs an absolute punch. We love to imagine Daisy and Jay doing the charleston to “Venus…”. And we’re also pretty thrilled with the fact it’s a nice mix of old and new artists and that our favourites Ella, Eartha and Louis are included – you could say that Sweet Tooth are dancing with the stars on this one

Following on from the last post about our friends Bart & Baker, we are pleased to announce that the Audioprophecy and Charlie Rouhana remix of ‘Bee Zoo’has been included on the latest Dubai Eklektic 3 compilation. If you’re not familiar with this series, it’s an off-shoot of the legendary Buddha Bar compilations. Sweet Tooth have always loved their sophisticated mix of chilled tunes (it’s no surprise that the bar/restaurants originated in Paris!), so it’s given us a real thrill to be included on one of their releases.
The album is “a double CD musical journey of down-tempo and up-tempo tracks inspired by the dynamism of Dubai, the ambience of Grosvenor House Dubai, and masterfully mixed by Buddha Bar Dubai’s very own DJ Nicholas Sechaud and DJ Ravin.”

We are thrilled to reveal the new artwork for our single ‘Venus In Hollywood,’available on iTunes (via our own label) and soon to be released (with this cover) by My Music – Poland as the first of the European album licensing deals we have afoot.
News item from My Musichere (for the Polish speakers amongst you!).
This times nicely with the release of another track from our collaborations project, a dance-floor friendly fidget house remix of ‘Venus’ by Paris-based producer 6u5. This cute video below is a mash-up of burlesque visuals to accompany the remix, painstakingly edited by Deadbug Films (see more of their work on YouTube and Vimeo).
The remix is available as a single via iTunes here. It’s also been included on Wagram Digital’s‘Electro Swing IV’ compilation by French DJs Bart and Baker, on iTunes and Amazon. And it’s soon to be on their forthcoming release ‘Spirit Of Electro Swing’ (outMarch 19th, 2012).
You may have been wondering where our video for Walk With Me is (after we posted stills from the shoot in April). Unfortunately it’s been held up in post-production due to circumstances beyond our control, but the film-makers are working as fast as they can and we hope to have something brilliant to show you very soon.
In the meantime, to aid my patience I’ve been on holiday in France recently and wanted to share with you some of my ‘vacances’ snaps, purely because the location was so incredible that I can’t quite believe it myself.
Along with a group of close friends, I lived in a castle for a week. A proper, 14th century château, in the Dordogne region of France. And before you ask, yes I did change my name to Princess Fleurtini for the duration (at least by attitude, not deed-poll!).
There was a beautiful view outside every window…
And a photo-opportunity in every nook, cranny and corner…
My beau and I stayed in the Queen Mother I room, which was certainly fit for royalty.
*bliss*
x
PS. Elsewhere in France, the compilation ‘Burlesque Swing’ (that I recently posted about) has just been released. A sweet fan snapped this shot in the Virgin record store at the Louvre Museum – pleasing indeed.
Hey sweeties, I have some exciting news. I’m told that our track ‘Venus In Hollywood’ will feature on French DJs Bart and Baker’s new electro-swing compilation “Burlesque Swing.”
It’s out June 16th on the Wagram Labelin France but also iTunes & import.
